1. Plant
IB Knoblich runs a block heat and power plant in Frankfurt (Oder)/Germany.
Here electrical energy and waste heat are generated from vegetable oil, while the waste heat is further used.
2. Description
The engines are adapted for the operation with raw vegetable oil of different sources to use a wide market offer of vegetable oil.
The plant is connected with the pellet production to realize a cogeneration prozess.
Based on the Renewable Energy Law the generated electricity is feeded into the local grid of E.ON | edis.
I Bio-energy generation
In the block heat and power plant, consisting of 2 combustion engines incl. generator modules with an elektrical power of 800 kW and 336 kW (together: 1.136 kW), bio-energyis generated on the basis of raw vegetable oil.
II Waste heat
In the process of energy generation usable waste heat is emerged:
- from engine-, oil- and charger cooling
- with the offgas heat
The waste heat from the engine cooling (ca. 85 °C) is used to heat the production building and for the preheating of the vegetable oil.
The waste heat of the offgas (500 to 550 °C) is used to dry the moist shavings in the added drying plant.
With our Plant we
-support the brandenburgian energy policy
-want to be a driving force for efficient energy utilization
-accomplish a contribution for the protection of the environment, the climate and natural resources
-create jobs
